Hospital of Valais is the largest employer in Valais.

Some 5,700 people work in its two hospitals, the Spitalzentrum Oberwallis (SZO) and the Centre Hospitalier du Valais Romand (CHVR), as well as in the Central Institute of Hospitals, the Service Centre (CDS) and the General Management.
