Maternity Ward

The team of paediatricians takes care of around 750 new-born babies from the Obstetrics Department, Mother-Child Unit, every year. Its tasks include routine preventive examinations on the maternity ward, as well as providing advice and instructions to parents before they leave the hospital. Our family rooms allow parents to spend the first few days on the maternity ward with their new-born child. In 2012, the Maternity Ward was once more awarded the UNICEF ‘Baby-Friendly Hospital’ award.

In addition, the delivery room is equipped with neonatalogical emergency equipment available 24 hours a day for new-born babies that are ill, premature babies, and high-risk childbirths.

Premature childbirths and high-risk childbirths are intensively monitored by the obstetricians within the framework of the perinatology centre, in order to provide optimal and personalised care.
