Internal Medicine

Internal medicine treats patients suffering from medical afflictions which require extensive investigations and medical diagnosis. This speciality can be seen as being at the cross-over point between several other specialities and covers a wide range of afflictions; it is practised throughout the various sites of Valais Hospital.

In 2011, the Internal Medicine Departments of Valais Hospital (Cantons of Valais romand and of Haut-Valais) registered just over 100,000 days of hospitalisation. The average length of stay is around 8.3 days.
