The Cardiology Department is headed by Dr Grégoire Girod (Head of Department) and the Head Nurse, Ms Sonia Lacroix.

The cardiology department at CHVR continues to maintain the close ties that bind it to CHUV through a partnership agreement. Indeed, the excellent collaboration between the two sites ensures optimal care for cardiology patients. A few highly specialised procedures are still carried out at the CHUV: mitral valvuloplasties, angioplasties requiring the removal of heavily calcified plaques (Rotablator), and ablations for certain complex cardiac arrhythmias (ventricular tachycardias and atrial fibrillation). German-speaking patients with the same type of condition are usually referred to the Inselspital in Bern.
