Valais Endometriosis Centre

The Endometriosis Centre supports patients throughout their journey, from the first symptoms to follow-up after treatment. Our mission is to offer specialised, personalised care based on the latest medical advances.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic gynaecological condition that mainly affects women of childbearing age. It is estimated that one in ten women are affected.

It is characterised by the presence of tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) outside the uterine cavity — for example, in the myometrium, ovaries, peritoneum, bladder or intestine.

The most common symptoms include menstrual pain, pain during sexual intercourse, bleeding and sometimes difficulty conceiving.

A complex and often debilitating disease, endometriosis can have a major impact on the quality of life of women and those around them. While there is still no treatment to prevent or cure it permanently, several therapeutic options are now available to control symptoms, slow the progression of the disease and improve daily well-being.

Our services and expertise

  • Patients may be referred to the endometriosis clinic for a diagnostic assessment or therapeutic treatment.

In cases of clinical suspicion, our specialists carry out a comprehensive assessment in order to establish a reliable diagnosis. This essential step allows us to better understand the disease and propose solutions tailored to each situation.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease that progresses and can worsen over time.

Early diagnosis, combined with appropriate treatment, allows for better pain control.

  • Each patient is unique. We therefore develop a tailor-made treatment plan, taking into account symptoms, the stage of endometriosis and individual priorities.
    The approaches offered include:

    • medical treatment,
    • surgical treatment if necessary,
    • or targeted fertility support.

Hormone therapy is the cornerstone of treatment, complemented by a multidisciplinary and integrative approach including: pelvic physiotherapy, pain management, specialised surgery if necessary, reproductive medicine consultation, sexology and complementary medicine.

  • For complex situations, the centre draws on the expertise of the hospital network. This collaboration brings together different specialities and ensures comprehensive, coordinated and consistent care.

  • Endometriosis can affect fertility. Our teams support patients in their desire to become pregnant and accompany them every step of the way, from preparation for conception to follow-up during pregnancy.

  • The centre actively participates in clinical studies. This involvement contributes to the continuous improvement of the quality of care and provides patients with access to the most innovative approaches.
