Video monitoring is a measure that infringes fundamental rights, such as respect for privacy and personal freedom. The use of video monitoring must therefore be strictly regulated and respect several principles in order to minimise the infringement of the aforementioned rights while achieving the aims pursued.
In order to achieve the desired goals while respecting the principle of proportionality, only the most sensitive places likely to represent a danger are equipped with video surveillance cameras.
These cameras record continuously, in principle without live transmission of the images. However, live images can be consulted, particularly at night when a person in charge of security is present on a site and when a specific interest requires it for certain particularly sensitive areas.
